BREAKING NEWS !! Brand new Abendigo Records release which gathers on the same vinyl two exclusive titles by singers having an impressive career!
It is the veteran artist Fred Locks aka Stafford Elliott who comes on the Side A. He is a Jamaican Rasta Singer who started in the 60s with the label Studio One. He was widely recognized for his hit in 75’s”BLACK STAR LINER” and his backing with the band Creation Stepper. He also worked with Fatis Burrell in the ’90s, giving a must-have album called Never Give Up. After many collaborations with international labels, you’ll find today an exclusive tracks on Abendigo Records entitled “The West Must Perish”. It is a poignant title where he describes a Western system coming to an end and express his love for Africa. The title was composed and mixed by Shasha Records for Abendigo Records and has been voiced in Jamaica alongside the talented backing vocalists Monica Smith.
On the Side B of the vinyl record, there is another great singer from the label Studio One: the famous Earl Sixteen aka Earl Dread! Active since the 1970s, he has released an impressive number of titles and albums. He has collaborated with leading producers such as Lee Scratch Perry (official), Augustus Pablo, Clement Seymour ‘Sir Coxsone’ Dodd, Mickey Dread, Mad Professor and Nick Manasseh.
His first release in 2018 under Abendigo Records named “Hard in this time” became very popular in Brazil and Mexico. Today, he comes again with a new track entitled “Africa is On The Move”. This song has been voiced at the Dou Wess studio in Senegal in the village of Toubab Dialaw. It delivers a positive message on the African continent, its evolution and its future. The composition and mix of this new title was also provided by Shasha Records for Abendigo Records.
This new maxi 45rpm is clearly turned towards Africa and brings a futuristic and positive vision of the continent. A production signed by Sly Abendigo and Jahlow aka Ameth Diallo. This vinyl will be pressed to 500 copies and will be the boom tune of this end of the year. It will be available from November 2 for the celebration of the coronation of Haile Selassie I.
